The last 12 months has seen a large increase in the demand for cold storage.
This has been fuelled by rising demand in the food industry. In the 12 months from May 14 to May 15, there was nearly an 8% increase in global demand for cold storage space according to a recent report.
This continues the trend of cold storage capacity increasing, as evidenced by The International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses report, showing a 20% increase in Cold Storage capacity comparing 2014 with 2012.
The report finds that household income is the main driver of the growth in cold storage capacity. As Ireland’s recovery from recession continues, employment and household income will increase.
If your business is in the chilled or frozen food industry you will have likely have seen this increase in demand over the last couple of years.
